The Residential Real Estate Council hired Jeff Hornberger, CAE, the former CEO of the Women’s Council of Realtors®, to serve as its new CEO, beginning Nov. 1. The council is a not-for-profit affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS® that supports members with advanced education, business tools and networking support. Before his previous position, Hornberger held a variety of roles at NAR in Chicago. He served as director of global alliances for NAR, traveling to more than 35 countries on behalf of global real estate, working on business development through events, education and membership initiatives. He was also the managing director of the NAR Commercial Real Estate Division.

Shonee started her real estate career in Rancho Bernardo in 2002. She has been involved in volunteering for various charitable organizations in the U.S. and the Philippines for the past 38 years. She was the founding president of the Asian Real Estate Association of America’s San Diego chapter (AREAA) (2008) and founding president of the Philippine American Society for Arts & Culture (2011). She served as a commissioner (a mayoral appointee) with the Human Relations Commission in the City of San Diego from 2007-2013, a mayoral appointment. She entered the real estate to help achieve her dreams of sharing wealth and wisdom with those less fortunate, including providing educational scholarships for underprivileged students. Prior to her involvement in real estate, she was employed by Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) Technology division leaving the company as Administration Manager in charge of the $125M contract’s day to day operation reporting directly to the Division Manager and operated a dance and music studio before pursuing a real estate career full time.
